Steve Cook, author of “Been There, Done That Cancer Thing… and so can you”, is a survivor of a thymoma, a fast growing type of cancer related to the thymus gland in the upper mid-chest. Prior to this, he’d never even heard of a thymus gland! When his cancer was discovered by chance and dumb luck, his family doctor gave him as little as six months to live. Shortly thereafter, his newly acquired oncologist couldn’t give him any odds on survival because thymoma is such a rare form of cancer. So Steve decided to make up his own odds and they were very good.

Now, more than a decade after all the chemotherapy, surgery and radiation treatments, Steve has thoroughly (& happily!) proven his family doctor wrong. As a survivor, he’s had many one-on-one opportunities to speak through the years with other individuals battling cancer. Life has made him an expert in this, so he finally felt it was time to put into book form many of the attitudes & practices that worked for him and enable him to say he’s “been there, done that cancer thing.”
